New poem: "The Casualties of Life"

 

 

The Casualties of Life

 

Who is accountable

for the casualties of life?

 

The law of natural evolution,

the stronger who conquered

the weaker?

 

Or the weaker who only

evolved as far as their culture

could take them?

 

There is another law, greater

than the laws of nature, that makes

accountable both the weaker

and the stronger;

 

But only wisdom knows this law,

understanding born of soul’s evolution,

which nourishes both the weaker

and the stronger;

 

And not until we know this law,

will the casualties of life be made

accountable to both the weaker

and the stronger.
