New poem: "Georgian Bay Blueberry Pie"

Georgian Bay Blueberry Pie

Melanie punched in Barrie Hill Farms

on her trusty Jeep Cherokee’s GPS,

and we were off to pick fresh berries

for jam and the Georgian Bay Blueberry

Pie (which I inspired by the Wisconsin

Strawberry Pie that her sister Penny Lynn

makes for me every birthday); but as I

followed the directions on her GPS from

the back seat, watching the magical mind

of AI display directions, with a pleasant

woman’s voice alerting us to the next

road and turn to take, the thought came

to me, like a gift from heaven, wouldn’t

it be something if we had a spiritual GPS

to map out directions to our destined

purpose of realizing all that we are meant

to be? How simple life would be. I knew

that it was a pie in the sky; but then, so

was Georgian Bay Blueberry Pie.
