New poem: "Another Mystery Solved"

Another Mystery Solved

“It’s a betrayal of their soul,” I said,

on our leisurely Sunday drive in beautiful

Georgian Bay; but the love of my life

did not understand my spontaneous

comment, and I had to explain how my

muse finally worked out my inexplicable

antipathy for certain people: “They’ve

betrayed their own soul,” I repeated;

“that’s why they bother me. They weren’t

born that way, sweetheart; they just

couldn’t resist the urge to be what they

were, and they betrayed their soul to be

what they’re not. Another mystery solved,”

I said, putting the vexing subject to rest

once and for all.
